How payments work
Your own Stripe or Mollie account
You connect your own Stripe or Mollie account; we do not sit between you and your money. That means ticket revenue lands in your account on your provider’s payout schedule, rather than waiting for a middleman to decide to settle. For an association that has to front the hall rental, that difference is real.
The payment methods Belgium actually uses
Bancontact and Payconiq are built in, alongside credit cards, iDEAL and bank transfer. That is not a detail: a ticket shop offering card payments only loses buyers in Flanders who simply want to pay with Bancontact. The choice appears on the visitor’s phone, in the app they already use. Bank transfer stays available for those who expect it, such as a school invoicing parents. Do account for the fact that a transfer is only complete once the money has actually arrived, so do not open sales too close to the date.
What it costs, and who charges it
Two costs, from two parties. From us: one flat €0.49 per ticket sold, whatever the ticket price, and nothing on free events. From your payment provider: their own transaction fees, which you pay directly to them at their rate. We add no margin on top, and we take no percentage of the ticket price.
Per order, not per ticket
Stripe and Mollie charge their fees per order, not per ticket. Four tickets bought in one go therefore cost one transaction rather than four. Average basket size matters more than it looks: for groups that book together — a class, a team, a family — your cost per ticket drops. The calculator on the pricing page shows that effect.
No surcharge on the visitor’s card
In Belgium you may not charge a customer extra for using a common payment method such as Bancontact or a consumer card. The platform therefore does not let you set a surcharge per payment method. You can choose who carries the platform fee: you as the organiser, or the buyer as part of the ticket price — the same for every payment method. In practice you therefore choose between a €12 ticket where you carry the fee, or a ticket price with the platform fee built in. Both are allowed; what is not is charging the same visitor more because they pay by Bancontact rather than by transfer.
